We are developing a large-scale digital display that integrates terracotta with LED technology for installation on building façades. Each terracotta-based LED panel is connected to a cloud control system. When the LEDs—embedded beneath the terracotta—are off, the surface appears as a natural terracotta wall. When on, the light passes through the material, creating a softly diffused display without the need for additional optical films or brightness-modifying layers. Unlike conventional LED panels, which appear black when inactive and overly bright when active, this system preserves the material’s architectural quality while reducing light pollution through the natural filtering properties of terracotta. The cloud platform supports real-time, multi-wall control from a single dashboard, including content delivery, scheduling, and system management. Potential applications include retail, hospitality, transit hubs, and public interiors where digital communication must blend seamlessly with architectural finishes.
