Holographic Windshield Display
Hyundai Mobis’ Holographic Windshield Display (HWD) is a transparent display system that transforms the vehicle’s windshield into a digital interface. Utilizing a proprietary projection method based on Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs), the system delivers high-brightness, full-color images directly onto the glass without obstructing the driver’s view. The HOE is a thin diffractive film laminated within the windshield, selectively diffracting RGB wavelengths from a DLP projector to form clear visuals. This technology enables the display of navigation, driving data, and digital content while maintaining cockpit openness and visibility. By relocating traditional displays to the windshield, HWD enhances safety, design flexibility, and user experience. It is scalable for various applications, including cluster, center, and panoramic displays.
