LITEON's Hazard Awareness is a unified perception software system that addresses a critical safety gap in current Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). Standard ADAS platforms treat surround-view environmental sensing and in-cabin driver monitoring as separate, siloed functions. Our system bridges this gap by synthesizing these two critical data streams in real-time. By cross-referencing a model of the driver's attentional state, derived from their gaze, with the concurrent tracking of external hazards like vulnerable road users (VRUs), the system creates a holistic inference of the driver's situational awareness. This enables the vehicle to understand not just if a hazard exists, but whether the driver is specifically aware of that hazard. As a software-defined solution, it enhances safety on existing hardware, transforming ADAS from a reactive warning system into an intelligent co-pilot prepared for future Euro NCAP visions.
